A group of ten sentenced of cyber-bullying targeting Brigitte Macron

A Paris court has found guilty ten people for perpetrating the digital intimidation of Brigitte Macron, the partner of France's leader, Emmanuel Macron.
The those on trial faced charges of disseminating false claims regarding her sex and sexual orientation, in addition to making malicious remarks about the husband and wife's significant age difference.
The court handed down suspended jail terms of up to eight months to the perpetrators. The detailed judgment has still to be made public.
A persistent false narrative claiming that Brigitte Macron is a person assigned male at birth has been in circulation since her husband's initial election in 2017.
This recent ruling in France comes as the Macrons initiating a libel case in the US against conservative commentator Candace Owens, who has likewise promoted similar conspiracy theories about the first lady's gender.
Their lawsuit alleges that Owens disregarded all credible evidence that refuted her assertions choosing instead to platforming known conspiracy theorists.
Owens has regularly repeated these allegations on her digital program and online platforms, and in March 2024 declared that she would stake her entire professional reputation on her conviction that Mrs. Macron was born a man.
Brigitte Macron originally became acquainted with her now-husband when she worked as an educator at his secondary school.
The couple married in 2007, when the then-29-year-old Emmanuel Macron was 29 and she was approximately 54 years old.
