The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were hurt while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced disruption to water supplies, per reports from city officials.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to local officials.

Moscow has intensified assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while officials has called for "concrete actions" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the United States, Europe and the Group of Seven - in providing protection systems and applying penalties," mentioned in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen missiles targeted the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes struck electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people wounded in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from city authorities.

Area administrators said the urban area endured heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child died and several individuals were injured.

The strikes follow periods of aerial attacks in the region, parts of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The entire country is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to spot.

Authorities told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the national power system, with strikes already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and authorities were anticipating further attacks.
